After waking up in Waymoot, Rose received a pearl from her Mother via her animated ragdoll rat Tiptoe, while on the other side of the tent Myravyn awoke with a freezing aura that left frost footprints wherever she walked and an unabatable chill in her body.
Using an elk head and offal as bait retrieved from the trappers, the party ambushed and defeated a desperate Bronze - Wolf Pack - Completed led by a scarred, single-eyed direwolf during the fight it was clear that a change had also occurred in Merrit Thistlewick as well, his strikes causing a corrosive effect against the wolves. Inspecting the direwolf’s body, Vael’ric Nhalor discovered cold-branding marks from a giant canine, which Myravyn recognized as a Frost Hound of the Wild Hunt linked to the Archfey Cerunnos revealing a brand the Archfey had left on her Arm.
Tracking the monster eight miles to its den, the group engaged the wounded beast. Under the pressure of the fight, Myravyn’s internal cold manifested outward to summon her ice Echo for the first time, aiding the companions before Rose finished off the hound with an Eldritch Blast.
After the battle, Rose identified the left-behind Skull of a Hound of the Hunt as a magic item that could imbue a persons attacks with Frost. As the party began their trek back to Waymoot, Vael’ric Nhalor quietly pulled Merrit Thistlewick aside to question him about the mysterious corrosive energy infusing his punches, to which Merrit Thistlewick did not seem to know the reason.
