Appearance
Vael’ric is a young, slender human with sharp features and an observant demeanour. In the field, he wears lightweight travelling wraps and leather gear, carrying a light crossbow, a longbow, and a dagger. Concealed deep within his sleeve, he keeps a specialised pocket watch, which he habitually clicks open to focus or channel magical effects that imbue his strikes with blue-tinted flame.
For formal occasions, such as Lady Truesilver’s evening gala at The Moon and Stars, he wears fine Cormyrian formal attire provided by the garrison. When under pressure, he habitually bites his lip or cheek to maintain silence and composure.
Life Details
Vael’ric hails from Halruaa, a distant land on the southern edge of the continent that was devastated by ancient magic long ago. Because Cormyrian gold is foreign and unusable in Halruaa, he considers local currency largely irrelevant to his life back home.
In Halruaa, Vael’ric was placed under the tutelage of an impatient instructor. His instructor chained him to the back of a caravan, sent him to the High Horns, and gave him a specialised Halruaan training manual. He was instructed to travel, train, and study until he became strong enough to return home.
Upon arriving in Cormyr near Espar, Vael’ric met rose on the road. He subsequently joined the adventuring party in defending a wagon from a goblin ambush and rescuing a young girl named Cicely.
Operating out of Waymoot, he earned his Bronze and Silver-tier badges at the Adventurers’ Guild, undertook monster-hunting contracts, researched restricted draconic history, and helped uncover the true nature of regional threats.
