Appearance
Grolicer is a weathered gentleman in his 50s or 60s who frequently chews tobacco and can often be found leaning against his porch banister with a cup of hot liquid. Despite his prosperity, he maintains a straightforward, salt-of-the-earth demeanour.
Life Details
Grolicer’s forefathers originally bred horses for jousting when the ranch was first established, eventually transitioning into raising warhorses. His ranch is one of four major operations in the Waymoot valley that supply trained warhorses to Cormyr’s military forces.
All of Grolicer’s stock are branded with his ranch emblem a fleur-de-lis with crossed lances and require documented lineage papers to sell. Although his ranch and stock are worth roughly 8,000 gold pieces, Grolicer has little patience for grandstanding nobles such as Lady Truesilver.
He is a veteran breeder and trainer with extensive knowledge of warhorse stock. His ranch includes sand arenas and is staffed by hands vetted by the Purple Dragon Knights.
Interactions with the Party
When two finished chestnut warhorse stallions, each worth approximately 400 gold pieces, and essential farm tools including pitchforks, rakes, hammers, and shovels went missing from his back paddock, Grolicer reported the theft to the Purple Dragon Knight garrison and the Adventurers Guild.
When the party arrived at his ranch, Grolicer verified their Adventurers Guild credentials before walking them half a mile out to the back paddock on the edge of the King’s Forest. He answered their questions regarding the stolen stallions and farm tools, expressing amusement and scepticism when Merrit Thistlewick suggested that “druids” were responsible for the crime.
